Failing to go to orbit in Destiny after an activity will nullify postmaster rewards

Awful So this is a weird one. Over at theDestinysubreddit, they’ve uncovered something surprising, straight from Bungie. According to the official help section of the game’s site, failing to go to orbit after an activity (read: a raid or Strike) will forfeit all of your postmaster rewards (anything you didn’t pick up off the ground, or rolls off the map). This sounds obvious, but it’s really not. After each raid is complete I typically use the “change character” function before I return to orbit, as it’s a way faster means of swapping characters....

Final Fantasy VII hits iOS tonight

At midnight When the clock strikes midnight in your country,Final Fantasy VIIwill be available on iOS. This version evidently offers up multiple controller options, including analog or digital movement. It also comes with some of the PC edition fixins due to the fact that it’s a port, like the ability to turn off enemy encounters, and max out your stats instantly (cheat codes). I think I own more copies ofFinal Fantasy VIIacross various devices than I care to admit, but I’m curious to see how this plays....

Fortnite came back, overhauls its entire map as ‘Chapter 2’ begins

A whole new world Fortnitehas had several “world ending” events in the past, but this time theyactually ended it: temporarily, because there’s money to be made. It’s being referred to asFortnite: Chapter 2, and will follow the story of a new crew, as well as a blown-up map, and of course, new cosmetics to buy. Four new wild and crazy, ’90s as hell PS4 DualShock controllers are on the way

‘The colors duke, the colors!’ Sony really gets me on new DualShock 4 purchases. It’s probably been the most faulty controller I’ve ever used in my life (and I’ve been gaming since the Atari 2600), with two of them failing due to crumbling analog rubber and two more dying due to faulty triggers. But as a reviewer I need to actually be able to play games on a daily basis, so over the past several years I’ve had a few “yeah I need to go out and buy a controller right now” moments: one of these newly revealed DualShock 4s could be on my shopping list eventually....

Frictional Games’ SOMA brings true horror to PS4

Releasing September 22 for PC and PS4 Even though it doesn’t seem that long ago, it’s been five years since a group of indie developers struck it big with the release ofAmnesia: The Dark Descent. The game became a hit with players looking for a scare, and it soon became a popular pastime to watch other people freak out in real time on livestreams. You could say it kicked off the whole indie horror push we’ve seen in recent years, and many still regard it as the ultimate ‘NOPE!...

Getting up to speed with Strider

Hands-on at TGS Striderwas…well, it wasn’t a big deal at Tokyo Game Show 2013. It could be found at a couple of places on the show floor, but you had to look for it. But I didn’t need any fanfare or huge signage to want to try it out. I mean, who doesn’t likeStrider? Or at least the idea ofStrider. The franchise games and their spiritual successors have been all over the map (though I really dugMoon Diver)....
