Sony announces PS Move Sharp Shooter, new controller

Sony announced two new accessories today, both of which are set to coincide with the launch ofKillzone 3in February. The first one, a gun shell for the PlayStation Move dubbed the Sharp Shooter, is a bit overkill. I suppose when it comes to the weapon-shaped controller market, overkill is the name of the game, though. The Sharp Shooter will run you $39.99 when it hits store shelves, and the Jungle Green DualShock 3 controller (viewable in the gallery below) comes with a $54....

Speedrunner sets new world record with New Super Mario Bros. collecting no power-ups in the process

Sometimes I’ll play an ‘avoid the power-ups’ minigame Mariogames are pretty fun to speedrun. They generally take almost no time to get started (the one in this very article only takes 35 seconds for the opening cutscene to end), and allow for a large degree of freedom — 2D or 3D — in how you approach them. That’s fairly obvious with this new run by MyLittleWalrus, who speeds throughNew Super Mario Bros....

Storm’s Adventure with Gears of War 3

I don’t think this joke will be well accepted, but I already wrote it down, so I might as well run with it. Fun Times with the Lancer 3is the journey to save Sera, and this video is a journey into copyright infringement. I already enjoyed the franchise quite bit up to this point, and I’m glad to see it end. Don’t get it twisted, I don’t mean thatFun Times with the Lancerneeds to end....

The 8-bit Time Machine album takes a nostalgic angle at newer properties

Angry Birds, Super Mario Galaxy, and Destiny, among others More than any subgenre of gaming music, my heart is particularly fond of retro-themed tunes. To help bring us back into the past, composer Giovanni Rotondo has created a project called “The 8-Bit Time Machine,” which provides old-school renditions of modern games. The 10-track project is currently taking on games likeWind Waker,Super Mario Galaxy,Destiny, andAngry Birds. It’s set at a mere $1,000 goal with a stretch of $1,500 for four additional tracks....

There’s still plenty of tricky Zelda: Breath of the Wild tech going on

It’s a long shot It’s our first wackyZelda: Breath of the Wildvideo of 2019! At this pointBreathis nearly two years old and these clips are still trucking. Shared by Unusual Videos, Link manages to get to some high ground to fire a perfect, pinpoint shot at a Guardian only to have it notice him and immediately fire back. It’s not as technically impressive as some of the crazy, physics manipulating clipsorclever glitcheswe’ve seen since launch, but it gets the job done in making me want to boot upBreath of the Wildand screw around in it yet again....

What are some of your favorite game visuals?

From Okami to uggos In my circle of friends, I can’t stop singing the praises ofCuphead. Asides from its rewarding challenge of overcoming some splendidly designed boss encounters, its distinct 1930s cartoon aesthetic is unique and hard to compare to anything else right now. Everything feels so authentic, from the film grain effect, the rubber hose motions on everyone’s animation, and the absolutely incredible music. My favorite part is the announcer hyping you up before a fight in a way that’s reminiscent ofCapcom vs....

Where is our Project CARS review?

Dragging a bit Project CARSis at the starting line raring to go, but before the green flag waves, some people would like to offer their analyses. We won’t be one of them. The game’s review embargo just lifted, but we’ll be lagging behind the pack a bit. The reason is that we’re reviewing it on Xbox One, and our copy hasn’t arrived in the mail yet. I’m somewhat to blame, as the publisher offered us PC code earlier, but I wasn’t confident in my mid-range laptop’s ability to do the game justice....
