Octodad: Dadliest Catch is still charming as ever on the Switch

Dadly Premonition Octodad: Dadliest Catchis a wonderful little game that kept me grinning throughout its duration. Darren pretty much nailed itduring his initial reviewback in 2014, so, if you’re curious about the overall quality of the title, he’s got you covered. It’s a goofy story that follows an octopus that’s pretending to be human. Even his wife and children have no idea about his underwater origins. You’ll control the writhing cephalopod protagonist as he carries out mundane tasks like mowing the lawn and going to the grocery store, while avoiding the wrath of a rogue sushi chef who wants to expose him for what he truly is....

Industry analyst Michael “Elder Foot” Pachter recently joked that Nintendo fans will buy anything related to Nintendo. Ironically, Nintendo fans totally bought it, and are raging hard at the silver-haired love machine. “I don’t think Nintendo fans are so stupid they would buy a piece of cardboard,” he suggested onBonus Round. “A box on the other hand, that says Nintendo on it, they probably would. Remember when you were a kid and you get gifts, and when you’re really little you like the box better than the gift?...

Pachter: Wii U is not going to work

Industry analyst Michael “Pink Toothbrush” Pachter has stated that theWii Uwill not succeed as intended, and criticized Nintendo for believing that it can do something novel and come out on top. “I don’t think they suck — I just think that they really believe that, ‘If we’re still novel, everything we do will work.’ This isn’t going to work,” he said. “Hardcore gamers will buy them; hardcore Nintendo fanboys will buy it....

Project TH is basically a Korean Splinter Cell with Zombies

With movies and shows such asParasite,Train to Busan, andSquid Gameit’s become obvious that Korean media deserves its spot in the limelight. The same principle should be applied to video games, too, and it would seem thatSplinter Cellis already on the docket for Korean reinterpretation. That’s right: whereas Ubisoft appears to be painfully uninterested in the production of anhonest-to-goodnessSplinter Cellgame, that’s not to say other devs can’t try their hand at the same concept....

Review in Progress: Okami HD

Amaterasu is still lookin’ good Truth be told, I’ve never beatenOkami. I’ve played it twice over in the past, first on the Nintendo Wii and got about halfway through the game, around that same time though, I got a PlayStation 3 and simply never found myself returning to finish it. Then with the PlayStation Network release in 2012, the same result ensued; I got about halfway through it and ended up getting distracted by another game altogether, never finding myself coming back to it....

Ronimo announces Wii U-only Swords & Soldiers II

Yeah, I’d be down for more of this While I’m a hugeAwesomenautsfan first and foremost, I also got a kick out of Ronimo Games’ prior release,Swords & Soldiers. It is one of those sidescrolling real-time strategy titles where you send your troops to the other end of the screen to beat up opposing troops. Simple fun. Nearly five years later, it’s getting a sequel. What have they learned since then?...
