Microsoft: Can’t get online? Buy an Xbox 360!

Open contempt for the customer? Check! So far, everything dribbling out of Microsoft’s Don Mattrick at E3 this year reeks of the hubris that surrounded Sony in 2005. Hammering home that same cocky, flagrant contempt for the average consumer, Mattrick has uttered his version of Ken Kutaragi’s famous “get a second job” line. “Fortunately we have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of connectivity. It’s called Xbox 360,”he whimperedin an interviewwith Geoff Keighley....

Pokemon Unite’s new season has been unceremonious, to say the least

Season 3 removed a few things and didn’t add much So far,Pokemon Unitehas solidified itself as an uneven, but bite-sized take on the MOBA genre that I liked to dabble in on a weekly basis. But so far based onPokemon Unite‘s new season, the newly launched Season 3, I’m finding it a bit harder to log in. Inexplicably, without communication (crucial to every live service game in 2021, much less MOBAs), several elements were removed....

Pre-order GTA: Chinatown Wars at Amazon and get a bonus car

I don’t get around to my Nintendo DS very often. It sits in a corner underneath my desk, happily collecting a thick layer of skin flakes. I blame it onAnimal Crossing’sfree enterprise asshole, Tom Nook. He takes all of my money and then asks for more. I don’t understand why the game won’t let me revolt against the Nook machine. I tried a letter writing campaign once to advise all the members of my community to sell their houses and live with me on the beach....

Press F to pay respects: Call of Duty jumps the grave

‘F’ off There’s a bit inWatch Underscore Dogswhere Trench Coat McBall Cap has a sad over hisniece’s(oh, right, a gruffmannotsad about his dead wife, right) grave. After the flashback and histortured inner monologuein front of Lena’s grave, if you continue to stand there, the game will issue the same button prompt it will for anything you can vault over, hilariously undercutting a lazy attempt at an emotional moment. Call of Duty: Armored Warfarinwould not be outdone, however, and made a very intentional, cemetery-set button prompt....
