Now planning to launch before the end of the year The Xbox One’s launch in China has been delayed, Microsoft announced this weekend. The console was slated to arrive in the country on Tuesday, thereby becoming the first foreign videogame device officially sold on Chinese soil in 14 years. Now the company is revising its plans, and promises to release later this year. “Despite strong and steady progress, we are going to need more a bit more time to deliver the best experiences possible for our fans in China,” reads a Microsoft press release....

Open contempt for the customer? Check! So far, everything dribbling out of Microsoft’s Don Mattrick at E3 this year reeks of the hubris that surrounded Sony in 2005. Hammering home that same cocky, flagrant contempt for the average consumer, Mattrick has uttered his version of Ken Kutaragi’s famous “get a second job” line. “Fortunately we have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of connectivity. It’s called Xbox 360,”he whimperedin an interviewwith Geoff Keighley....

It’s Gundam, but extreme Bandai Namco announced today that a sequel for the hit arcade gameMobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs.was in development. While no further details were given, it’s currently aiming to launch in Japanese arcade centers in 2018, with a location test this summer. You can check out the teaser trailer below. Season 3 removed a few things and didn’t add much So far,Pokemon Unitehas solidified itself as an uneven, but bite-sized take on the MOBA genre that I liked to dabble in on a weekly basis. But so far based onPokemon Unite‘s new season, the newly launched Season 3, I’m finding it a bit harder to log in. Inexplicably, without communication (crucial to every live service game in 2021, much less MOBAs), several elements were removed....

I don’t get around to my Nintendo DS very often. It sits in a corner underneath my desk, happily collecting a thick layer of skin flakes. I blame it onAnimal Crossing’sfree enterprise asshole, Tom Nook. He takes all of my money and then asks for more. I don’t understand why the game won’t let me revolt against the Nook machine. I tried a letter writing campaign once to advise all the members of my community to sell their houses and live with me on the beach....

Still no release date for Brendon Chung’s 20th century hacking game This new trailer forQuadrilateral Cowboyhas reminded me how much I want to play that game. I got a brief taste back at PAX Prime in 2012 and was immediately hooked by its lo-fi hacking aesthetic, especially after playing Brendon Chung’s previous gameThirty Flights of Loving. This new trailer shows off some of the tools and gadgets you’ll be using like power saws, CPUs, cute robots, and instant ramen… and hacking....
