Splatoon musician takes leave after 17 years Video game composer Ryo Nagamatsu announced that they have left Nintendo following a 17-year tenure that saw them produce music for titles franchises includingSplatoon, Mario Kart, Super Mario, andSmash Bros. Speaking in a succinct message on Twitter, Ryo Nagamatsu implied that he has left Nintendo (amicably) in order to spread his creative wings a little further across the industry. “I have made a decision to leave the company of August 02, 2025,”writes Nagamatsu....

May he rest in peace It’s a sad day for the video game world. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata passed away yesterday at 55 years of age. The cause of his unfortunate death was a bile duct growth. Nintendo announced the news with a brief one-sentencenotificationof death and personnel change of a representative director. Iwata had served as Nintendo’s president since May 2002. Iwata effectively spent his entire career at Nintendo, beginning at HAL Laboratory, Inc....

Announced by Blizzard today Even though they don’t really have an E3 presence, Blizzard is celebrating this week. They just shared the news today on Twitter thatOverwatchhas hit 10 million registered players “and counting.”This comes just 12 days afterthe publisher noted that they had reached the seven million player mark, so positive word of mouth seems to be helping. Blizzard clarified to Destructoid that this number includes PC, PS4, and Xbox One players....

And slight nerfs for Soldier: 76 and Reinhardt Blizzard is at it again with some reasonable changes for your favoriteOverwatchcharacters — especially if you’re a Genji or Hanzo main. The brothers have had their wall climbing abilities buffed, so they can immediately attack after their climb. Hanzo also got some tweaks to his bow, with a 10% increased charge speed. It’s a simple alteration to buff climbing but it’s one of my favorites to date as it fits their fast-paced gameplay style....
