Podtoid: Now with less indie fappery

With Reverend Anthony at GDC this week, there will be no stroking our chins and eating international cheeses while discussingThe Marriageor Jon Blow’s latest thoughts on comfortable footwear. This also means that we’re postponing ourStreet Fighter: The Moviecommentary until next week. This is sad. The rest of the crew shall be in attendance tonight, and frankly I don’t know what we’ll be warbling on about. Probably some GDC speculation, along with chatter concerningWii FitoutsellingHalo 3....

Ready for Hyrule Warriors’ Majora’s Mask DLC? If not, grind these levels

Bless you, Divisive Plan I’m continually amazed and frightened byhow much mileageI’ve gotten out ofHyrule Warriors. This game is massive without DLC, and with it, god help us all — it just keeps going. After regularly playing since launch in late September, I’ve managed to clear the first Adventure Mode map, most of the Master Quest map, and around half of the Twilight Princess map. But just when I feel like my progress is coming together, more content drops....

Review in Progress: Total War: Three Kingdoms

You may want to pursue Lu Bu When you think of what a teenager might like, the first thing that pops into your mind probably isn’t history. But for one reason or another, the History Channel was my jam in high school. I loved watching old documentaries about World War II and learning about Rome’s dominance of the ancient world. Something about all of the double-crossing and covert operations piqued my interest, which then put me on the hunt for some historical gaming....

Should you divorce a game from its creator?

Good games but questionable support? I think in essence, before hitting the dusty trail of this topic, some amount of acceptance of business practices is inevitable. However, I think it was an interesting juxtaposition of the weeks leading up toRed Dead Redemption 2‘s release that everyone was talking about Rockstar’s 100-hour work weeks. Some say crunch is inevitable and that hearing stories of people disintegrating in order to get their games out is a necessary evil of some sort....
