Hopefully you found some time to tune into the livestreams and see the creation process for some of these absurd games, because it’s super interesting. Perhaps the best news of all is that if you were unfortunate enough to miss the event and were unable to donate, the Humble Store isstill openand accepting donations!...

This round comesin the form of photos from the publisher’s official Nintendo Tokyo Twitter account, and the store really sells itself at this point. Only Jimi Hendrix can solve Jimi Hendrix’s murder in The Jimi Hendrix Case

Help me Jimi, you’re my only hope In a world where everyone is Jimi Hendrix, from the preacher giving a sermon in church to the baby in a stroller, the mother of that baby to the dead body in the alley, only Jimi Hendrix can save Jimi Hendrix from Jimi Hendrix. Did I write Jimi Hendrix enough times? The name is starting to do that weird thing where it stops looking like it’s a word....

Review: Raven Squad

The medium of interactive entertainment is full of good ideas that, for some reason or another, never realized their full potential. Either the required budget just wasn’t there, pressure from publishers restricted development, or the studio itself was simply incapable of making a good game. Quite where the reasons forRaven Squad‘s failure lie is not something I am going to speculate upon. I have my share of theories, though. Raven Squadis a good idea....

Splatoon 2’s next European splatfest is a battle of breakfasts

I’m a cereal killer Having put the world to rights on the correct way to hang toilet roll, Nintendo’sSplatoon 2returns to Europe this weekend to once again sort out the questions that matter. This week: Do you like a warm breakfast, or a cold breakfast? I guess by “Warm” or “Cold” they are referring to cooked breakfasts, such as bacon and eggs or similar vs. a bowl of Cheerios or some other cereal....

Square Enix is still cleaning up the PC port of Chrono Trigger

Today’s update has a new UI Square Enix put the classic Super Nintendo RPGChrono Triggeron Steam back in February, and it was such a pleasant surprise — until we got a closer look at the port. In short, it just seemedoff. The PC version used a mishmash of graphical filters that made the character sprites and background art look like a blurry mess, and the user interface wasn’t well-suited to the platform....

Stardew Valley 1.6: how to check if a mod is compatible

With the 1.6 update recently rolling out for the PC version ofStardew Valley, many of you will have been basking in all that delicious new content. Actually, I’m surprised anyone is reading this instead of leisurely skipping throughFerngill Republic. If you are here (first of all, thanks), then you’re probably wondering about the mod situation. Steam Summer Sale, an embarrassment of riches

We all have our vices I still firmly believe that one of the greatest upsides of being a PC gamer are the twice annual fire-sales hosted by Steam. Those sales, alongside the multitude of other deals and bargains that can be scooped up from Humble Bundle, GoG, and other online retailers at any time during the year are what makes PC gaming so attractive to me. Sure, the upfront cost of outfitting a PC with a beefy videocard and the ridiculously large quantities of RAM needed to hang in the overspec’ed world of PC games can be ghastly....

SwitchGames to cut devs, publishers in on the used game market

We’ve heard it before — developers and publishers whining about how they don’t make a cent off of used game sales. Valid complaint, to be sure, since retailers like GameStop are making cash hand-over-fist by with its used games racket. Well, online videogame trading Web siteSwitchGames.comis looking to change all of that. While the site currently allows users to swap games between one another, plans are in the works for an upcoming buy/sell feature....

TERA is going free-to-play in February

Consider me SHOCKED When I playedTERAat launch, it felt like it was designed for a free-to-play audience. There were so many “kill X of Y” quests that it made me a bit nauseous. Now that it will befree-to-play starting in February, the grindy nature of the quests fits right in! Don’t be swayed, though — the combat is excellent and once you get around level 23, you start fighting BAMs, or Big Ass Monsters (yes, that’s what the game calls them), and it starts to get way better....
