If you’ve been waiting for the all-importantPayday 3patch to start rolling out, hopefully you won’t have much longer to wait. While there’s no release date for it just yet, the developer has at least tried to explain why it’s taking so long. In a post on thePaydaywebsite, Starbreeze Studios has issued yet another apology, acknowledging that it’s been a bit quiet recently. However, the message “lifts the curtain” a little to give some insight into what the developer is working on....

Gold/cash increased all around Earlier this week Rockstar noted that theRed Dead Online‘s economy“wasn’t right,”after an outcry of fans denounced its extreme efforts of over-monetization. Well today the studio is pushing out the first biggest patch forRDO(still in beta) that mostly deals with said economy. Rockstar says this is the first step to create a “more balanced, fun and rewarding overall experience across all modes and missions.” The gist is that cash/gold payments have been increased across basically everything, most notably free roam missions and mission replays....

‘Sweet dreams’ Just last week, Blizzard doled out one of thebiggest teases in recent memory, trumping a mere character preview for one of their several competitive offerings. They posted a Diablo nightlight and the words “Sweet dreams,” leading many to believe that it was a confirmation of aDiablo 3Switch port. It’s a joke that’s been used a lot since the system was even first announced, but Blizzard stated that it was instead a “fun engagement piece....

The closure of Bethesda’s launcher apparently means free stuff A few older pieces in Bethesda’s back catalog are available on Steam for the low, low price of free. SeveralElder Scrollsgames, and aWolfensteinentry too, are free on Steam right now. The newfound freebie seems to be due toBethesda’s launcher going awaylater this year. As the company’s own platform for launching plans to go down, its games are making their way onto Steam....

It was reassuring to see your enthusiastic reactions toOutlandearlier today. The game clearly has a lot of promise, but its booth at PAX Prime was sad, empty, and hidden in plain sight. I wasn’t so sure Ubisoft would give it the proper marketing push, to be frank. After today, though, I’m slightly less worried. Week ending 1/11 It’s January and that means it’s time to catch up on all the hot new video games we found tucked underneath our Christmas trees last year. There’s a whole schedule to keep track of dependent on your platform of choice. Modern Warfare PS4 beta Modern Warfare Xbox One and PC beta What’s actually playable in the beta? 2v2, 6v6, and “larger player count firefights,” at least to start.Modern Warfarewill change maps, playlists, and “other content drops” as the beta progresses....

During the four years since The Megas re-imaginedMega Man 2‘s soundtrack through the incredibleGet Equipped, the band has been working on new material (as well as earning avery special referencein the ArchieMega Mancomic series). Next up isMega Man 3, but that soundtrack proved to be so monumental that a single album would not be enough to contain its glory. To that end, The Megas have split the album in two and will release the second part at a later date....

‘Logistical problems’ The Witcher 3‘sHearts of StoneDLC is set to drop on October 13, along with a physical version that came packed with Gwent cards. Now CD Projekt Red has noted that due to logistical problems, this edition has been delayed for “several days after launch.” It is currently working with GameStop to rectify the issue. No it’s not a big deal at all, but it’s something to be aware of in case you don’t get your shipment or pickup the day of launch....

Time for a patch! The honeymoon period forSuper Smash Bros.for the 3DSandthe Wii Uis just about over. Some of the people who said a month ago that it’s the best game ever made are now starting to come out with emotionally charged complaints, like the roster isn’t as good asProject MorBrawl, that it’s a pain to unlock all of the custom moves, that the single player component is lacking, and other niggling gripes....
