New vid of Muramasa Rebirth as pretty as expected

Sweet Vanillaware A new gameplay video for the Vita port ofMuramasa: The Demon Bladehas cropped up on the interwebs and … yep. That’sMuramasa. Note the beautiful sprite designs and animation, as well as the torrent of flashing blades. Quality stuff there. The original remains one of my personal favorite games released for the Wii, despite its many faults, and I’m thrilled that it’s getting a second go. I can’t think of a single good reason to think that this game would help to sell Vita units, but I sure hope the people who already have one will give this game a chance when it releases later this year....

Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is nearly here on Wii U

Remember this delay? Oddworld Inc. has been hard at work gettingOddworld: New ‘n’ Tastyto workon the 8GB Wii U model, and the last time we got a major update on the progress was sometime in late 2014. Now, the developer has chimed in this week on Twitter, noting that it is “in the final steps,” and it shouldn’t be long before the game hits the Wii U eShop. That’s great news for sure, but since the game is basically on every other platform anyway (PC, PS3, PS4, Vita, Xbox One), I’m not sure who exactly was holding out for this edition....

Only a week in and Dj CUTMAN has a Wii U remix album

Take these chill melodies on the go That was fast! Hardware mishaps aside, Nintendo is brilliant when it comes to presentation. There’s no reason why the music from the friggin’ OS menus and applications on Nintendo consoles should be so damn good, but they are. It’s wonderful. The Wii U brings along a new suite of soothing jams, and there’s no better way to enjoy the Wii U when you aren’t playing on the Wii U than with an mp3 player full of ’em....

Overwatch is three years old today: do you still play it?

Did you ever start? I’ll never forget the first time I playedOverwatch. I immediately gravitated toward the edgy and enigmatic Reaper, played a few games, and knew it was going to catch on with a certain crowd. I had that same feeling when I experienced it pre-launch at a press event, but when it truly exploded, it caught everyone, even director Jeff Kaplan off guard. A year in and multi-million dollar eSports league conversations were on the table:Overwatchwas officially a big deal....

Rumor: 3DS to use the hated Friend Code system

AFamitsupreview ofSuper Street Fighter IV 3D Editionseems to suggest that the despised Nintendo Friend Code system — Nintendo’s way of pretending to keep children safe online — might be making an unwelcome return with the 3DS. According to the Japanese magazine, players can battle random online opponents with a custom match feature, or they can maintain a friends list using Friend Codes. The preview itself doesn’t explain whether the codes are just part of the game, or part of a universal system spread across all 3DS titles....

More characters, levels, and music Capy Games is bringing its previously Xbox-exclusiveSuper Time Forceto PC on August 25, according toJoystiq, and this is far from a mere port. Extra content for thisUltraversion of the time-traveling run-and-gun game was teased before, but I wasn’t expecting there to be too much new stuff for Steam. Turns out I was wrong!
