New trademark sparks Nintendo 64 Classic speculation

It’s never too early to start F5ing Few if any of us were surprised to see Nintendo follow up theNES Classic Editionwith aminiature Super Nintendo, but how far up the console cycle will the company go, and how quickly? As much as I’d rather not eventhinkabout what comes next until I’ve gotten an order locked in for the SNES, a would-be Nintendo 64 Classic also feels inevitable. There’s no way they’re not gonna go at least that far, right?...

Evil Geniuses After reading both Jon Bois’ excellentadioS: The end of RadioShack, through the eyes of a store managerandA eulogy for RadioShack, the panicked and half-dead retail empire, you’ll forgive me for forgetting that Radio Shack still shambles on. In fact, there are still three in San Francisco without a red, foreboding “PERMANENTLY CLOSED” mark on Google Maps. Ranking the best Pixar movies (and Cars 2 I guess…)

Animation sure has come a long way I’ve been a fan of Pixar for most of my life. Whenever Pixar gets around to making a new movie, whether it’s an original movie or a sequel, there are a few things you can be certain of. It’s going to make a fortune at the box office, it’s going to be beautifully animated (for the time), and there are probably going to be a scene or two that will make you cry or feel a feeling....

See what makes the Switch tick with transparent casing

Spoiler: It’s microchips We haven’t had an official crystal console in a while, not that I can remember, maybe the first Xbox? Well, one accessory outlet is now offering up clear casings for your Nintendo Switch. Nintendo have released clear/crystal versions of their consoles before, including the Game Boy, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance, but this unofficial product seems to have beaten them to the punch this generation. The transparent housing will obviously require the user to disassemble their current unit and transfer all the internal components, but if you are up to it, and like the look of the see-through aesthetic, than maybe you think it’d be worth the risk (and possibly voiding your warranty....

Stop the presses: Someone may have figured out poise in Dark Souls III

It’s more like agility than traditional poise After Bandai Namco and From Software were wholly unhelpful when it came toexplaining what the poise stat doesinDark Souls III, a community member may have just figured it out. According to redditor Back_Like_Flint, it actually has to do with rolling animations, and not stagger deterance and ability interruption. In fact, it’s more linked to agility than anything as it influences invincibility frames during rolls....

Takeda gains an extra move in this Mortal Kombat X patch

Right on I wasn’t a fan ofMortal Kombat X‘s Takeda, both in terms of his characterization or his playstyle, but he’s gaining a new move this week courtesy of the 1.02 update. It’s called “Quick Kall,” and with allow him to return a dropped blade without attacking, which is a nice little tech ability. A few other characters have been tweaked, like a fix for Shinnok’s Imposter variant (when he steals Goro’s Stomp), Sub-Zero’s Grand Master (Ice Klone combos are fixed, and he has a new free klassic skin), as well as another Takeda change involving his Shirai Ryu variant (a teleport fix)....
