Nintendo: Sales targets for Nintendo Switch ‘will not be an easy challenge to meet’

Their goal is selling 20 million more before March 2019 Nintendo representative director and president Tatsumi Kimishima seems extremely hopeful for the future of the Switch, but he also understands that resting on the laurels of its early success could be its undoing. Right now Nintendo has its sights set on pushing 20 million more Nintendo Switch units before the end of their next fiscal year (March 2019) on top of 100 million units of software....

Overcoming Tank anxiety in FFXIV made me a better player (and a Dark Knight main)

Within any traditionalFinal Fantasy XIVparty, there are three roles to fill: one Tank, one Healer, and two DPS in a light party or double that in 8-man groups. For a long time, I checked that last box as a strictly DPS-only player. It wasn’t until years into my adventures that I’d stray from my comfort zone, thrust headfirst into tanking. I’ll never forget my first proper tanking experience inFFXIV. My FC (Free Company) mates at the time, whom I will honestly never forgive but always be grateful to, insisted I give the role a try....

PS Vita designer wants a thinner machine

PS Vita (and Walkman) designerTakashi Sogabe would like future PS Vita models to be thinner than they currently are. The original Vita was going to be slimmer than it is, but the engineers couldn’t make it happen. “Speaking not only about the PS Vita, we always have a battle between engineers and designers. The original design of the PS Vita, for example, was very much thinner than the current retail product,” he revealed toCVG....

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice ‘leans’ into a narrative-centric focus

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twiceis mymost anticipated game of this year, and it seems to herald in some fairly radical shifts as far as FromSoftware is concerned. One new development is how From will handle storytelling, a contentious element of theSoulsseries. In theory, it should appease people that are sick of the diminutive narrative concept. Speaking to Game Informer, communications manager Yasuhiro Kitao sets the tone by explaining what the company seeks to accomplish with the setting: “Sengoku is much likeDark Soulsand such, more medieval Japan, and allows us to play with those medieval concepts and those more mystical concepts....

Struggling to catch Pokemon in Go? There’s a ‘bug’

Niantic responds! If you’ve had a hard time actually catching anything inPokémon Goas of late, it might not just be your imagination acting up or a super-unlucky streak. According to Niantic, “a new bug affecting throw accuracy increases the odds of escape and omits the XP bonus.” The developer says it is “working on a fix,” and to “stay tuned,” which is a promising sign considering howgenerally quiet it has beenwith fan queries and outward communication....

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s final update includes a true ending that’s ‘happy’ for (almost) everyone

This week,Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguereceived its final chapter. The update added the last bit of content along with an Offline Mode and a “True Ending,” which was arguably a happy one for the game’s characters — save for at least one. What a saga it’s been for Harley and the boys. The game came from the creators of the excellentBatman Arkhamseries and even existed within its universe. However, players were unenthused by live-service elements and repetitious gameplay (even if it wasn’t as bad as assumed from early trailers)....

So what is this thing with the “Online” moniker tacked-on? Well, it’s kind of likeSuper Bomberman R, the polarizing series revival released in 2017 on Switch and 2018 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but quite literally an online-centric battle royale take on it....

The Switch Joy-Cons will come in multiple colors

Joyful! It looks like we won’t need to be waiting for additional Joy-Con colors for the launch of the Nintendo Switch. Shown off during the Switch presentation were an almost neon red and blue color scheme for the Joy-Con controllers, along with some funky wrist straps. Seeing as how the Joy-Con has motion controls built-in, I guess Nintendo is just covering themselves from another Wii mishap style injury lawsuit. Those damn things are so small, so I wouldn’t imagine you’d do much damage with them....
