iPhone users who have a love for Atari should be having a field day right about now. The company has released a veritable glut of their arcade and Atari 2600 games to the App Store withAtari’s Greatest Hits.
The software makes available 100 games, sold in a variety of packs for $0.99 each or you can pick up the whole lot for $14.99. Arcade games includingTempest,Crystal Castles, andAsteroidsare available along with 2600 games likeYar’s RevengeandCombat. AndPONGcomes free just for downloading it. As an additonal, some games support multiplayer over Bluetooth connections. Spiffy!
This is the program which the upcomingiCade cabinetfor the iPad is intended for, though I do hope other iOS developers will design with that in mind because it’s so damn neat.
