Baldur’s Gate 3has take home yet another Game of the Year award, having won Best Game at the BAFTAs alongside four other awards.

The 20th BAFTA Game Awards took place on April 11 and with them celebrating the best games of 2023, it should come as no surprise thatBaldur’s Gate 3dominated the competition. After all, it was nominated for no less than nine categories atThe Game Awards 2023and won six of them, including Game of the Year.

According toGamesRadar, however,Baldur’s Gate 3‘s BAFTA win means it has become the first ever game to win the Game of the Year award (or equivalent) across The Game Awards, the Golden Joysticks, the Game Developer’s Choice Awards, the DICE Awards, and the BAFTAs. The only other games to have come close to achieving this wereThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the 2018God of War, andElden Ring. It could very well add a couple more Game of the Year awards to its trophy cabinet since it’s been nominated in that same category at this year’s Gayming Awards and Hugo Awards, which take place in June and August respectively.

It’s an incredible achievement for developer Larian Studios to receive all these accolades. To win even one Game of the Year award is impressive enough (especially given how many amazing games came out in 2023), butBaldur’s Gate 3has also been a huge commercial success, with itmaking Hasbro at least $90 million.
