Best Leafeon ex deck in Pokémon TCG Pocket
As Leafeon ex’s biggest strength lies in using its Forest Breath ability to give 1x Grass energy per turn to any of your on-field Pokémon (while in the active spot), our deck will revolve around using it to bring the most out of Celebi ex. The latter is a must here, as its ability to deal 50 DMG per energy attached (if you are lucky) makes it the best partner for our ex eeveelution.
To keep your Pokémon alive, we add Irida and Erika to the mix for their massive healing effects. If you are worried about the latter’s Water energy-related passive, don’t, as Forest Breath and Celebi’s colorless requirement will allow you to go for mono Water with no drawback. As you may see above, we will also use Sabrina as an extra line of security and both Pokémon Communication and Poké Ball to boost our chances of getting Eevee, Leafeaon ex, and Celebi ex into play as soon as possible. Ideally, you want to have the latter two on the board within your second turn.
Do you need Celebi ex to pay Leafeon ex?
No, as although Celebi ex can get the most from Forest Breath, it is not the only card capable of synergizing with it to great effect. A great example of that is Yanmega ex, who can deal 120 DMG consistently if set in the active spot with two energy counts.
Going with the card will also allow you to keep the foundation of our BIS deck mostly intact, as you will only have to add two copies of it in Celebi ex’s place and switch two supporter cards for the Tanma needed for the evolutions. There’s no rule of thumb regarding which cards you should take out, but going for a set of Irida and Sabrina copies seems to be the best bet.
How to play Leafeon ex
When using Leafeon ex inPokémon TCG Pocket, the key will be to get it on the active spot asap so you’re able to trigger its Ability and assemble your offense before your opponent can set their foundations. Once done, make smart use of your supporting cards to sustain both Leafeon and your main attackers.
Keep in mind that the card’s weakness to fire will make Leafeon easy prey for fire decks. If you allow them to get going, most meta decks — such as those revolving around Dialga and Charizard ex — will also be able to one-shot your Pokémon.
