Comic creator is happy with the treatment of his creation

It’s strange to remember when bothThe Walking DeadandFableswere announced as projects for Telltale Games. It seemed that its episodic format had worn thin butThe Walking Deadseemed to revitalize the company and now upcomingFablesseries is something I’m looking forward to. In a Facebook post,Fablescreator Bill Willinghamhas praised Telltale’s handling of his creation.

“Fableshas been shopped around for a movie or TV show,” writes Bill. “…the scripts told me the same thing: whoever wrote these stories never readFables, or didn’t like what they’d read.” Telltale’s episodic games have always been been faithful to their source material, for good or ill but Bill seems very very impressed with the studio’s approach. “The men and women at Telltale got the story right. They know the true story ofFablesfrontwards and back.”

“It’s brilliant to the point of there being far too many moments of, ‘I wish I’d thought of that.'” It’s heartening to see a creator being really happy with the way their work is handled. Hopefully Telltale won’t buckle under the pressure of making the followup to what manyconsidered the best game of 2012.
