Ready At Dawn talks making believable monsters
Here’s Ready At Dawn discussing its thought process behind the beasts ofThe Order: 1886.
The scariest thing about the Half-Breeds? “They are smart,” says game director Dana Jan. “To me, I think that’s actually the scariest thing about them. When something can look at you — size you up — and be your equal, if not above you, I think it becomes very, very scary.”

It’s often the monsters that have a hint of humanity to them that end up being my favorites. I’m not so sure aboutThe Order‘s Lycans being particularly “believable,” as far as creatures that could exist outside of fiction, but I see where they’re coming from in terms of a design exercise.
