The exploits causing problems for the PC versions of theDark Soulsseries will be keeping them offline for a while longer. Bandai Namco and FromSoftwareannouncedthat the online services for theDark Soulsseries on PC will stay offline until afterElden Ringis out.

Online services forDark Soulsand its follow-ups on PC wererecently pulled down. This was due to anRCE vulnerability foundinDark Souls 3that can run malicious code. Publisher Bandai Namco brought servers for all threeSoulsgames, and has yet to bring them back.

Now, it seems like theSoulsgames will stay offline until at least the launch ofElden Ring. Investigations into the exploit are also extending intoElden Ring, as Bandai Namco assures it has made sure the “necessary security measures” are in place.

“Due to the time required to set up proper testing environments, online services for theDark Soulsseries on PC will not resume until after the release ofElden Ring,” the statement reads. “We will continue to do everything we can to bring back these services as soon as possible.”

The publisher says it will announce when these services will return as soon as a schedule is determined.

Elden Ringis still slated for a Feb. 25 launch in the meantime. It’s good to hear that Bandai Namco and FromSoft are looking into any potential carryover issues. Though for fans of theSoulsmultiplayer, this means any duels will have to stay on hold for the time being.
