GOTTA LET IT OUT

Devil May Cry 5sales have hit a historic five million,Capcom has announced publicly via Twitter.

It’s been over three years since the action sequel arrived, and reminded people of what theDevil May Cryseries was truly capable of once again. Here’s what Capcom had to say to mark the occasion (though the publisher did not qualify theDevil May Cry 5sales numbers with any platform or SKU breakdown):

Devil May Cry 5 sales

“Cumulative worldwide sales of ‘DMC5‘ have exceeded 5 million units! Thank you for your support.”

Devil May Cry 5,using Capcom’s own investor relations data, was already the best-sellingDevil May Crygame of all time, towering overDMC4. Previously the entry was reported to have sold 4.8 million units, so it continues to climb like an evergreen action game should.

I have to say, it’s well deserved, given howDevil May Cry 5brought the series back to around the game genre-defining cachet it had back at the launch of Devil May Cry 3: which remains one of the best action games of all time.Devil May Cry 5is something I’m going to be going back to throughout my lifetime, and I can still vividly recallthe E3 presentation when Capcom announced it.
