AlthoughDisney Dreamlight Valley’sFinding Old Friends quest has numerous objectives, we can break it down into four core parts:

Starting the Finding Old Friends quest

Unlike most quests inDisney Dreamlight Valleythat start automatically, you’ll need to find Simba and speak to him to begin Finding Old Friends. He’ll tell you about his pals Pumbaa and Timon, currently residing in the Lion King Realm. It’s time to return to the forest.

Meeting Timon and Pumbaa

Upon entering the Lion King Realm, you’ll find a cutscene highlighting the changes you made the last time you were here. Thanks to your efforts, the jungle is full of life, appearing much greener and prettier than ever. You’ll also see Pumbaa and Timon on a wooden log, talking to each other. It’s time to go find them.

Upon spawning into the realm, head out into the main area to find the two still standing on the log. Speaking to Timon initiates a conversation that, although pleasant, reveals his skepticism about the situation. Nonetheless, since you mention Simba during it, he’s willing to hear you out and teach you the ways of Hakuna Matata. First, though, we need some supplies.

Build a Jungle crafting bench and Red Jungle Mane

Your first goal after talking to Timon is to search for jungle supplies to create a crafting table and Red Jungle Mane. You’ll need the following items:

All three resources are available in the Lion King Realm, so don’t worry about leaving. Instead, search through all three areas and gather any supplies you find. You won’t need the sand yet, but it’s worth picking up for later.

Once you have your supplies, give everything to Timon to watch him create the crafting table. Now, you can create and wear the mane, bringing forth the spirit of Hakuna Matata. It advances the quest, which is mainly what we’re here for. You’ll now follow Timon and Pumbaa around the jungle, hearing them remark about the situation and their lessons for you.

Search for the Forgotten Crown

After a few conversations, Timon will ask you to craft an empty vial and search for a crown. Although an empty vial is a common item you make using glass, the crown is exclusive to this quest. Fortunately, it just requires some fishing.

Unlike regular fish, the Forgotten Crown will poke out of the water, surrounded by an orange fishing spot. I found it in the same area as the wooden log where Pumbaa and Timon first appeared. Reel in the crown to advance through the mission, prompting you to destroy it shortly after.

After breaking the Forgotten Crown, you’ll follow Timon and Pumbaa again before throwing a Bottle of Worries into the river. Although this is considered littering now, Timon assures you Pumbaa will grab it later.

Prepare leafy beds and say goodnight to Timon and Pumbaa

After completing your first Hakuna Matata lesson, you’ll return to Timon and Pumbaa’s camp again. Following some brief conversations, use your Royal Shovel to break the nearby leaf piles, turning them into comfortable beds. The three of you will get ready for bed, officially marking the end of the Finding Old Friends quest inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
