Another contender is stepping up to take on the MMO giant that isWorld of Warcraft, and this time it’s the folks over at Vigil Games (the dudes who brought usDarksiders) and THQ, who are bringing usWarhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Onlinefor PC. For those unfamiliar with theWarhammer 40,000universe, humanity has expanded into the far reaches of space, and they are dealing with the consequences of contact with both friendly and hostile alien cultures.
The gameplay appears to revolve around two of the main factions inWarhammer 40,000: the Imperium of Man and the Orks. Fans ofWarhammerwill have to explain more — I could never get into the series. I bought the figurines once, but my art skills are so terrible that I painted one and then was so embarrassed I never touched them again.
Vigil Games has stated that more specific details aboutWarhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Onlinewill be available this August at gamescom.
