After managing to crack the top ten NPD list for its late August launch,Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Rebornhas now passed the 1.5 million registered users milestone. Many will remember the originalFinal Fantasy XIVlaunch, which garnered no love for myriad reasons.

Between the middlingFinal Fantasy XIII,its sequel, andFinal Fantasy XIV‘s horrendous launch, the series’ name has been dragged through the mud to say the least. It’s nice then, to see that even the missteps can be salvaged.
