After the success ofResident Evil HD, it makes sense that Capcom would start gearing up for even more HD remakes. As word would have it,that’s just what they’re going to do.

In a recent Q&A regarding their financials, the publisher noted that “HD remasters of our catalog hit titles will be one of our key business activities. Overseas, it is becoming difficult to sell these lower-priced and re-mastered titles at stores because of the declining number of stores and sales area limitations. Therefore, we started aggressive digital download sales activities.” In more recent news,Devil May Cry 4: Special Editionis prepping for launchnext month, andaResident Evil Zeroremakehas been in the rumor mill pipeline for a while.

Look, I know that there’s a lot of beef going on with HD remakes. I get it. Instead of brand new games we’re getting a ton of old hat. But at the same time, most of these games Capcom are headline aregood. I don’t mind the chance to play them over again, and really, this strategy is far better than most of the things they’ve been doing lately.
