Destiny 2: The Final Shapeis keen onlong and involved quests. Longtime friend of Cayde-6, Micah-10, is the source for a few of these, namely the Convalescence quest chain. Despite what it asks of you, the reward is fantastic, especially if you’re running a Prismatic build. Here’s how to complete Convalescence and nab Microcosm.

How to get Microcosm in Destiny 2: The Final Shape

After completing the campaign, you’ll obtain the Destined Heroes quest in the Lost City. Several missions in, you’ll be introduced to Micah-10, who will give you the Convalescence quest.

Convalescence: Rootbound

Micah-10 needs you to rescue one of her unpartnered Ghosts. This little one can be found in the Forgotten Deep Lost Sector, which can be found in the Landing. Select the mission from your quest log to put an indicator on your HUD, making navigation much easier.

Complete the Lost Sector as you normally would, but don’t exit once you’ve opened the chest. Look at the base of the large tree to find the lost Ghost sitting on the floor. With the little light in hand, zip back to the Arbor of Light and speak with Micah-10 for your reward: the Someday shotgun.

Convalescence: Underbrush

Micah-10 has an idea on how to tap into more power from the Traveler. She needs you toacquire a Flickering Blessing. These can be found in any chest in the Pale Heart, with Pathfinder field assignment chests having a “massively higher chance” of granting Traveler’s Blessings mods.

Once the mod has been found, equip it by opening the Traveler’s Blessings menu on the Pale Heart map. Now that you know all about Flickering Blessings, head back to the Arbor of Light and Speak with Micah-10 to collect your reward: thePro Memoria machine gun.

Convalescence: Greenery

Convalescence: Greenery will be your introduction to the repeatable Cyst missions from Micah-10. There are six Cyst missions in total, spread across three areas. You can interact with the Traveler’s bird avatar to swap between the two Cysts per location.

Back to this mission, you first need to unlock Overthrow chests in the Landing. This is done by completing the various activities in the zone, killing enemies, and opening chests to fill the gauge, completing a tier.

Once that step is taken care of, you’ll see a new quest marker on your map located in the Refraction, East of the Landing. When you reach the area, you’ll see the Traveler’s bird avatar. Follow it from point to point until you reach the Sword Dance Cyst. A Cyst is like a Lost Sector, but has unique modifiers. In this instance, you must acquire a Hive Knight’s sword to destroy Hive shields and growths.

Now that the Hive have been dealt with, teleport back to the Arbor of Light and speak with Micah-10. The unofficial Vanguard of Ghosts has another reward for your troubles: the Emraced Identity sniper rifle.

Convalescence: Budding

By this point, you’ve convinced Micah-10 (and hopefully yourself) that you can handle yourself in the Pale Heart. Now it’s time to tackle the Ascent, Dissent, and Iconocaslm campaign missions on Cooperative Focus mode.

Cooperative Focus mode has apower cap of 2005and requires a fireteam to complete. There isn’t matchmaking, but there are plenty of modifiers.

Due to the modifiers and relatively high power cap, odds are that most folks will take a few weeks to level up before tackling this mission. Those who do rise to the occasion will be able to return to the Arbor of Light and add the Microcosm Exotic Heavy trace rifle to their collection.
