How to get and farm Sleep Sacs in Monster Hunter Wilds

You can get Sleep Sacs inMonster Hunter Wilds as target rewards by hunting the low-rank Nerscylla in Iceshard Cliffs. Unfortunately, both high-rank variants of the monster will not yield the material as a reward. You can also get the material by trading Wyvernsprouts with Sekka at Suja, Peaks of Accord.

As you might have guessed, the best way to farm Sleep Sacs inMHWilds is by completing the Dance of Shadows Optional Commission. While doing this, I also highly recommend carving up a few Nerscylla Hatchlings for a good amount of early Monster Fluid.

Used to craft 90% of the game’s tier two Nerscylla weapons, you can get Coma Sacs inMonster Hunter Wildsas Target and Bonus Rewards for hunting any High-Rank Nerscylla or Gravios. Given her higher drop rate, hunting the Nerscylla is by far your best bet when farming Coma Sacs. You can spot the High-Rank Temnoceran at Iceshard Cliffs, Oilwell Basin, and Ruins of Wyveria, with the former housing by far the larger amount of them. Keep in mind that each hunt can net you multiple sacs.

How to defeat the Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds

To start, her lack of resistance against the trio makes picking a Fire Cut or Blunt weapon a must when hunting the Nerscylla. If faced with the High-Rank version of the monster, investing in both Poison and Bind resistance will not hurt. Making use of a hunting horn capable of negating ailments can also be a game-changer here.

Regarding the fight itself, the Nerscylla is a fairly nimble foe, capable of applying poison at will. She is also heavily reliant on her web shots to lock you in place and will constantly use lounges and swings to close the distance. To make short work of her and counter that, simply apply the famous soulslike strategy and stay close to the monster while flanking it and abusing your dodge rolls to avoid its swings and pincers (do not roll into the enemy).

As you cannot expect to flawlessly avoid all of her attacks (even more so if the enemy is Tempered), don’t forget to bring a few Antidotes for emergencies — and never underestimate the effects of poison.
