Who saw that coming?
Kerbal Space Programis now a part of Take-Two Interactive, which is one of those sentences I never envisioned writing. The popular space-exploration sim will still be supported by Squad, and the acquisition doesn’t change the team’s plans for future updates and theMaking Historyexpansion.
The timing for this years-old game might seem odd — particularly given that wejust heard aboutsome former Squad staff moving over to Valve — but the publisher had been “persistently knocking on our door trying to work with us for a long time,” according to the studio. In its ownannouncement post, Squad noted that “this big news doesn’t change much for theKSPcommunity.”

“We viewKerbal Space Programas a new, long-term franchise that adds a well-respected and beloved IP to Take-Two’s portfolio as we continue to explore opportunities across the independent development landscape,” saidMichael Worosz, SVP,Head of Corporate Development and Independent Publishing at Take-Two. And with that, the purchase makes total sense.
