Some fantastic songwriters are on board for this adventure

When Mario and the Rabbids hit the battlefield this October, they’ll have some solid tracks backing them. During today’sMario + Rabbids Sparks of Hopeshowcase, Ubisoft unveiled three well-known composers crafting the tunes behind the battles.

Grant Kirkhope, the BAFTA-nominated composer, is back for the newMario + Rabbidsgame. Joining him to contribute to the soundtrack are Gareth Coker and Yoko Shimomura.

Coker accrued many accolades and recognition for his work on theOriseries. Shimomura, meanwhile, is a legendary name in the world of video game music with credits on everything fromFinal FightandLive a LivetoKingdom Heartsand, particularly relevant, theMario & LuigiRPG series. This trio of composers could mean very, very good things for the tunes ofMario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

A tactical approach

Alongside what looks like a stellar lineup for the music, we also got a look at some more gameplay ofMario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. It’s still a tactical adventure, mixing action and platforming with a turn-based strategy system.

A few new faces are joining the fray, including the sword-wielding Rabbid Edge, the Rabbid version of Rosalina, and the big lizard himself: Bowser. Bowser was shown in yesterday’sNintendo Direct Mini, but today we got a little more of a look at him and his, uh, Bowzooka?
