June will be here before we know it

Last year’s E3 was a special one for Nintendo. The company dedicated its entire show-floor presence toThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a move that seemed questionable as hell going into the expo but ended up paying off thanks to fans’rabid curiosityfor the game and itshigh quality.

This year? It’s too early for a specific lineup just yet, but presumably Nintendo’s E3 2017 booth will be more in line with what the company has put together in prior years. Besides new Switch (and maybe even 3DS) game announcements, I’m hopeful we’ll getVirtual ConsoleandSNES Mininews.

One thing we do know for sure is that there will be a pre-releaseSplatoon 2exhibition tournament. Details for the event are about as non-existent as you’d expect, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this takes the form of something like theSuper Smash Bros. Invitationalheld at E3 2014.
