Bevy of additional features touts browser as “best web on TV”
There’s beena recent surgein the power of next-generation Internet browsers as of late and if the specs on Internet Explorer for Xbox One are any indication, then this generation’s console war may have already been decided. Through the power of voice commands with the newest Kinect, users can browse the web while keeping both hands completely free to do amazing things like eating sandwiches or really anything the heart desires.
On a more serious note, IE for Xbox One does look pretty impressive. Voice commands and hand gesture control aside, the ability to snap walkthroughs or some of our own Chris Carter’squick tipsinto a window, while playingDead Rising 3, could be pretty useful. The added functionality with Smart Glass — for navigating and to send websites back and forth between devices — adds even more control to the user.

Having watched football all morning, it’s quite evident that Microsoft is going full force to deliver the Xbox One as a true “all in one” home entertainment device — thanks to commercials that have yet to show many games, let alone actual gameplay. My favorite advert of the day goes to the theirNFL and fantasy football on Xbox Onecommercial that completely neglects that Xbox One even plays video games.
Sure we may all know here that the Xbox One plays games, but maybe to your Mom and Dad, or crazy Uncle Larry, Internet Explorer; Skype; and fantasy football are the tools needed for Microsoft to be the big winner this holiday season.
