In the US and Canada, anyway…

Demo discs are largely a thing of the past, but Sony is making an exception forPlayStation VR.

The company is bundling in a disc that contains a bunch of virtual-reality demos, and if you’ve somehow gone all digital (godspeed!), its contents will also be available to download on the PlayStation Store.

The specific games included vary by region. In the United States and Canada, we’re getting:

In Europe,it’s going to bedemos ofDriveClub VR,PlayStation VR Worlds,RIGS,Tumble VR,Battlezone,EVE: Valkyrie,Wayward Sky, andHeadmasteron the disc. Which, yeah. That’s a bummer.

Running down that first list, these are almost all games I want totry, briefly, but only a handful of them (Rez,GNOG,RIGS,Thumper) seem compelling or substantial enough to warrant upgrading, especially considering PSVR on its own is several hundred dollars. That’s thebeauty of the demo disc, though.
