Details and screens have arrived in the latest issue ofFamitsu, giving the game a name and a timeframe. It’ll be calledIdolm@ster: Platinum Stars, and is scheduled for release this year.

In details translated byGematsu,Platinum Starswill reportedly feature the thirteen original cast members of 765 Productions, the starring outfit ofThe Idolm@sterandThe Idolm@ster 2. Players will step into the role of a new producer joining the company, and form bonds with the girls while managing their costumes, training, and performance. According to series producer Youzou Sakagami, the game is 60% through development.

Other thanthe absurdly overpriced iOS ports of the PSP games, we’ve never had anIdolm@stergame in English, so I’m not quite getting my hopes up for a localized release. Still, it would be nice if Bandai Namco thought a generational jump would make for the right time to take the plunge on bringing the series across the pond.
