Multi-part adventure from husband and wife team to seek funding from community
Cory and Lori Cole, the married pair of game designers responsible for classic adventure series,Quest for Glory, have announced their intention to begin work on a massive, five-part series of games, namedHero U. In an article over at Mashable, the Coles discuss how they came to realize the continued support for their earlier works and made the decision to move forward with a Kickstarter to acquire $400k in funding for the project, currently planned to begin on October 19.
The new game will feature five different protagonists, one for each game, with their stories intertwining through the course of the series. Featuring a 2D, tile-based appearance, players will explore a university for heroes and the monster-filled catacombs which lie beneath it. To assist in the development, the Cole’s have teamed up with Australian indie developer Brawsome.

Sounds promising. As an adventure game fan, theQuest for Glorytitles were an incredible breath of fresh air, combining elements of traditional adventure games with role-playing mechanics and multiple paths through puzzles. These guys know how to make a compelling experience and I’m looking forward to seeing how their Kickstarter pans out.
