Respawn Entertainment just went ahead and killed offForge, an unlikable big lug planned forApex LegendsSeason 4, so that Revenant–a freaky skeletal robot–can bask in the spotlight again.
The promo site forAssimilation, the fourth season, now reads: “RIP Jimmie ‘Forge’ McCormick.”
Fans have been expectingRevenant‘s arrival ever since they spotted the rumored character in 2019, but Respawn recently subverted expectations by announcing Forge instead. Now we know his true purpose.
Between data-mined info dumps and straight-up leaks, the studio has struggled to genuinely surprise tuned-inApex Legendsplayers. This stunt wasno exception, but I appreciate the effort all the same.
When Season 4 ofApex Legendsbegins on February 4, it’ll bring a “mysterious Legend,” the bolt-action Sentinel sniper rifle, another Battle Pass to finish, Ranked Series 3, and “much more.”
Something tells me Forge’s story isn’t over yet. People like mocking him too much for him to disappear.
