The acclaimed Batman studio is ‘hard at work’
Another event, another confirmation that Rocksteady won’t be showing off its next game. The studio won’t be at E3 2019. That’s according to co-founder and game director Sefton Hill, who took the unenviable position as bearer of bad news earlier today, exactly one week ahead of this year’s show.

Given that Rocksteady’s last major release was 2015’sBatman: Arkham Knight(or 2016’sBatman: Arkham VR, depending on who you ask), folks understandably presumed that this E3 wastheE3 for whatever comes next. The timing felt right. It was in the air! Or so we thought until just now.
Last November,Hill made a similar tweetto set fan expectations for The Game Awards 2018. “We’re still hard at work in our development bunker so don’t expect an announcement,” he said at the time. “When it’s ready to show, you’ll be the first to know. Spoiler: it’s not Superman.”
At this point, you kind of have to figure that Rocksteady Studios will make waves as part of a next-gen console reveal.It’s getting to be that time. On the one hand, I’m as eager as anyone to see the project out in the open. On the other, this team is a known quantity, and it’s safe to assume it’ll impress us again. If there’s any silver lining, it’s that the wait from reveal to release could be pretty bearable.
