Just in case you missed it,System Shock 3wasnot-so-subtly teasedby OtherSide Entertainment last week. It’s unrelated to the work going on at Night Dive Studios, who is currently working on aremake of the first game; OtherSide’s entry is a brand new, bona fide sequel to the cult classics.
While the studio is helmed by Tim Stellmach, who designed the firstSystem Shock,OtherSide is still a fairly new and unproven studio making the follow-up to one of the best-received games of all time. That gives people a pretty valid reason to be dubious about the game, if you ask me. That cynicism is even more valid when you remember that we don’t have any gameplay, screenshots, or even concept art available at the moment.
What wedohave now is a teaser confirming that SHODAN, the megalomaniacal rogue AI of the first two games,is back, and she sounds creepier than ever.
Her announcement was tweeted out alongside the official confirmation that OtherSide is indeed makingSystem Shock 3.Apparently the teaser site that had “SYSTEM SHOCK 3” written in great big letters simply wasn’t blatant enough?

There currently aren’t any announced platforms or release dates forSystem Shock 3, but I’m sure OtherSide will be talking more about the game soon.
