The survivalist adventure, which tasks the player with crafting a habitat for themselves on an isolated island seemingly occupied by a horde of people eaters, (not of the purple persuasion), finally launched in Early Access following a long and turbulent development period, which saw the game miss its initial release windows of May 2022 and then October 2022. These days have clearly not dissuaded the player community, however, who came out in droves on launch day to dive into the nightmarish adventure.

Sons of the Forestis the sequel to the cult 2014 releaseThe Forest, which managed to build a dedicated player base through its regular appearance on social media, Twitch, and other streaming services. With such an incredible launch already tucked into its toolbelt, it’s easy to imagine that the sequel is set to become equally, and likely even more, successful.

Sons of the Forestis available now on Steam Early Access. No console editions have been announced.
