Yeehaw
Wild West Online‘s core concept is exciting. The open-world, cowboy themed MMO promises gunfights, bounties, and memorable nights at the saloon.
Up until recently, I wasn’t too sure howWild West Onlinewould work. The idea of an MMO in a persistent Western setting sounded enticing, but it lives and dies by the amount of content available to players. The first gameplay video for the upcoming game is a small taste of what to expect, but it’s more than enough to pique my interest.

Based off the video, it seems likeWild West Onlineis a bit more systems-driven than I initially thought. While the bulk of the video focuses on a hunt for some bandits, some additional mechanics stand out from just shooting and looting. Players can steal items in-game, for example, but getting caught may lead to a negative reputation change. If you get too unpopular, there’s a chance that your avatar gets included on the Most Wanted list, which allows would-be bounty hunters to hunt you down. There’s plenty of potential in that setup alone, but that’s just a slice of what developer 612 Games are promising.
Even in an early state,Wild West Onlinehas plenty going for it. I’m keen to see how it all comes together for a full release.
