WithGrand Theft Auto Vreleasing earlier this week, I’ve been thinking a lot about my personal history with the infamous franchise. The firstGTAgame I played was the original on PC, and my goodness did my brothers and I love it. Running over lines of Hare Krishna (“GOURANGA!”), driving tanker trucks at full speed and slamming into cars stopped at traffic lights (instant explosions), and just generally causing as much mayhem as we could manage before inevitably dying or being stopped by the cops was the name of our game, and boy were we good at it. Even after all the open-world goodness inGTA III,Vice City, etc., the original still holds a special place in my heart.
