We know thatTimeSplitters 4isnot in development, but perhaps that can change. Fans have put together aFacebook campaigndubbed “100,000 Strong forTimeSplitters 4” in an attempt to drum up support for a potential follow-up game.
The fact that it has to come to this is rather disappointing, if you ask me, but such is the world of publishing videogames. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerlitook to Twitterto determine how large theTimeSplitterscommunity is, prompting the aforementioned initiative. So, this could theoretically have an impact.

I wish the group the best of luck, sinceTimeSplitters 2is one of my absolute favorite games. While a new installment could stand out in the genre, I’m afraid thatTS4— should it ever happen — simply wouldn’t live up to expectations. As painful as it is to be cynical about this, I feel like the time for it has come and gone, to some extent. For instance, do we really want afree-to-play version?
All that said, I would adore getting eitherTS2orFuture Perfecton digital distribution platforms in the same vein asOddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. Or, hell, even just any new shooter that offers a similarly absurd amount of in-game content and doesn’t take itself too seriously. Is that too much to ask for?
