After over a year of being in the rotation,Warzoneplayers only have a short amount of time left to jump back in and play a match on Ashika Island. Raven Softwareannouncedthat Ashika Island will be removed fromWarzoneonMay 30. The devs did not share if the Resurgence map will ever return, but it won’t return for the rest ofModern Warfare 3’slifespan.

“We’re directing our focus toward other map-mode combinations for upcoming playlist updates. This is part of our continued effort to provide players with a recurring, focused playlist that delivers the best player experience. Nevertheless, the adrenaline rush of dropping on Oganniku Farms, the memories of tense final circles on Tsuki Castle or feeding the Sea Lion at Beach Club will endure.”

Ashika Island

Unfortunately, as of writing, Ashika Island is not in the current rotation ofWarzonemaps. Raven Software will bring back the Resurgence map for its final week on May 23. Presumably, every squad size will be available, but that’s not a guarantee. The nextCoDtitle willreportedlylaunch in late October, and nothing has been revealed yet about the nextWarzoneinstallment.

Given thatMW3’siteration ofWarzonereleased new versions of Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island, it’s not totally out of the question that Raven Software could do something similar next year. But for now, Ashika Island fans should dive back in starting on Thursday and enjoy the Japanese island for one final time before it could be gone forever.
